ICELAND – A Different World

Met trots presenteert Eddy Reynecke zijn eerste fotoboek: ICELAND – A Different World.
Aan dit boek heeft Eddy het afgelopen jaar met veel passie, tijd en liefde gewerkt.
Het is een boek over een plek die voor hem inmiddels zoveel meer is dan alleen een bestemming: IJsland.

Sinds zijn eerste bezoek in 2010 is Eddy steeds weer naar IJsland teruggekeerd.
In de loop der jaren is het land steeds meer als een tweede thuis voor hem gaan voelen.
Het is de plek waar hij de ruimte en vrijheid ervaart waar hij zo van geniet.
Waar hij urenlang kan rondrijden zonder iemand tegen te komen en waar achter iedere bocht opnieuw een landschap kan verschijnen dat hem verrast.
Als fotograaf is IJsland voor Eddy een onuitputtelijke bron van inspiratie.
Toch gaat dit boek niet alleen over de mooiste of meest spectaculaire plekken van het land.
Het gaat juist ook over de momenten die onderweg ontstaan.
Vroeg opstaan voor het eerste licht, wachten tot de omstandigheden precies goed zijn, urenlang alleen door de Highlands rijden, een onbekende weg inslaan of ergens stoppen om simpelweg te genieten van de stilte en het landschap.

Het zijn juist die momenten die voor Eddy een belangrijk onderdeel vormen van zijn beleving van IJsland.
De afgelopen jaren heeft hij ontzettend veel van deze momenten mogen vastleggen.
Uiteindelijk ontstond het idee om deze beelden samen te brengen in een boek.
Niet als zomaar een verzameling foto's, maar als een persoonlijke selectie van beelden die voor hem ieder een herinnering, een gevoel of een bijzonder moment vertegenwoordigen.
Met ICELAND – A Different World wil Eddy een stukje van zijn IJsland met de lezer delen.
Hij hoopt dat zijn foto's niet alleen laten zien hoe bijzonder IJsland is, maar de kijker ook even meenemen naar de stilte, de ruimte en het gevoel van vrijheid dat hij daar iedere keer opnieuw ervaart.

Het boek

ICELAND – A Different World is een mooi en stevig uitgevoerd hardcover koffietafelboek (formaat 302x216x23mm).
Het boek telt 244 pagina's en is volledig in kleur gedrukt op 170 grams papier. De genaaide binding zorgt voor een hoogwaardige en duurzame uitvoering.

Eddy Reynecke is proud to present his very first photobook: ICELAND – A Different World.
Eddy has poured his heart, time, and passion into this book over the past year.

It is a book about a place that has become so much more than just a destination for him: Iceland.

Ever since his first visit in 2010, Eddy has kept returning to Iceland. 

Over the years, the country has truly started to feel like a second home. 

It is where he experiences the space and freedom he loves so much—where he can drive for hours without meeting a soul, and where around every single corner, a new landscape waits to surprise him.

As a photographer, Iceland is an endless source of inspiration for him.

Yet this book isn't just about the country’s most stunning or spectacular locations.

It is just as much about the moments that happen along the way.
Waking up early for the first light, waiting until the conditions are just right, driving alone through the Highlands for hours, turning down an unknown road, or simply stopping somewhere to soak in the silence and the scenery. 

It is precisely those moments that form an essential part of Eddy's experience of Iceland.
Over the past few years, he has captured countless such moments. Eventually, the idea arose to bring these images together in a book. 

Not just as a random collection of photos, but as a personal selection of images, each representing a memory, a feeling, or a special moment for him.

With ICELAND – A Different World, Eddy wants to share a piece of his Iceland with the reader.

He hopes his photos don't just show how extraordinary Iceland is, but also take the viewer along into the silence, the space, and the sense of freedom he experiences there time and time again.
